Happy 2017 and New Ventures!

Written by Deborah on .

Hi folks!

I wish for all of you to have a blessed and prosperous year!

I have had a little hiccup along the way, but I am trying to not let it stop me. For those of you that do not know, I started having symptoms of laryngitis about 2 months ago. I was very puzzled by it because I had not been ill. After 6 weeks of no improvment, I went to my ENT doctor. I was given an laryngoscopy and it was found that my left vocal cord was not functioning. I have been treated with steroids, however, up to this point there has not been any improvement. According to what my doctor said, if there is no improvement by the end of this week I will probably need to have a neck and chest scan to see if they can figure out what is causing this. It is a little scary, but I am doing my best to stay positive. I have a great supportive family and a wonderful group of friends that I know will get me through whatever lies ahead.

In the meantime,I am back to working full time! I am painting away and of course I am in doll show mode for the International Doll and Teddy Bear Show. Click the link below for more information:

I have some beautiful sculpts planned for this show. It is my hope that I can bring a table full of babies that will include open eyed, closed eyed, Boys, girls, and babies of different ethnicities. I have my work cut out for me for sure! I have also taken on the adventure of learning silicone painting.

I hope to have at least one sillicone baby available for adoption. I would love to have 2, but that might be jumping the gun a bit. We will see how it goes!ion.

Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions you may have regarding the show. If I cannot answer them for you, I will try to find the answer.

There is a lady by the name of Amy D. Wilson that is making the claim that she owns the phrase "reborn baby doll". She has caused havoc among the doll world by scoping out and having auctions and sales removed from places such as Ebay and Etsy. This is wrong! "Reborn doll" is an artform and started long before this lady ever started doing it herself! We need to stop this!

Please join me and many other artists and collectors and sign this!

Been Awhile!

Written by Deborah on .

Hi folks. Well its been quite awhile since I have blogged. Time just gets away from me and everytime I see how long it has been, I am shocked. I am now in the swing of things again and preparing for the International Doll and Teddy Bear Show in June in Asheville, NC.

I will be creating babies for the show as well as babies to list here on my site. That will mean a little more time in between babies, but please bear with me. They are in progress! For those who have not been to this show, I encourage you to do what you can to plan to attend. The talent here and the diversity of art dolls is incredible. I promise you you will not regret it!

Ever thought about learning this art form? Check out their website and sign up for a class! I still take classes myself. You can never learn too much and keeping up with the new techniques is a must!

Folks have asked me what sculpts I plan to do for the show. I do not reveal that information only because I want everyone to come and see new babies they havent seen here on my site. I want everything to be new and for attendees to be excited about who they might find on my table! I can tell you that there will be a variety of boy and girls, open eyed and closed eyed, a maybe an ethnic baby or two.  I want to have a table with a diverse selection.

I even plan to have a silicone baby this year! I have learned to paint silicone and I am excited about getting better and better at it. I will even be taking another silicone painting class this year at the show. I'm never afraid or too proud to learn something new or different! Here is a link to the show website with all the pertinent information. Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions you may have regarding the show. If I cannot answer them for you, I will try to find the answer.
